The Confidence Code for girls drew a packed room of 400 girls and young women to New Canaan Library where Jill Ellyn Riley, co-author of The Confidence Code for Girls, urged them to take risks.
“The most critical thing to building confidence is to take risks. Try new things, try scary things. You can’t build confidence unless you try.” Girls played confidence — building scenarios.
Each of the 75 girls received a copy of the book, funded by New Canaan Health & Human Services. The League of Women Voters hosted a voter registration booth at the event.
